“Thirsk area” can mean the town, a nearby farm, a village beneath Sutton Bank or a property much farther into the Moors. Similar cottage names and shared rural postcodes make the booking confirmation more useful than the marketing headline.

Book the last few miles
Thirsk station is at Carlton Miniott rather than in the Market Place. National Rail’s onward information places the centre about 1.4 miles away, while a rural property may be considerably farther. There is no taxi rank listed at the station, so arrange the connection instead of expecting a waiting vehicle.
